Tropical Traditions is giving one lucky reader 1 quart (32 ounces) Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil!
I was able to try this Virgin Coconut Oil. I really was not sure what to except. I decided to bake a cake and replace the oils with virgin coconut oil. And let me tell you it came out yummy!
.
Here is some information on how they discovered Virgin Coconut Oil:
"When I first read about the wonderful benefits of coconut oil, I asked my wife Marianita, who grew up on a coconut plantation in the Philippines, if there was a more natural way to extract the oil from the coconut, so that we didn’t have to buy the refined coconut oils found in all the stores in the Philippines. She said there was a method the older generation used to extract the oil by grating the fresh coconut, extracting the coconut milk, and then letting the c
oconut milk stand in a covered container for about 24 hours. After about 24 hours, the oil naturally separates from the water producing a crystal clear oil that retains the full scent and taste of coconuts. So we started making our coconut oil that way and using it for our cooking needs with our three children. We couldn’t believe how wonderful it tasted, and how great we felt. We had been living on Mt. Banahaw in the Philippines for almost two years by that time, and in the year 2000 telephone service was provided to our rural farming community, allowing me to put up a website about our Philippine Herbs. I decided to also put our Virgin Coconut Oil up on the website, not really expecting people to order it because it was a bit expensive since we had to hire people to make the oil, and shipping cost a lot because of the weight. We were so surprised when people started ordering, and then re-ordering it because they felt so great after using it! They told us there was no other coconut oil like it on the market. (See a sample of testimonies.)"

«Oldest ‹Older 1 – 200 of 406 Newer› Newest»Hi! I have heard a lot of good things about coconut oil. I have heard it is a great moisturizer. I would love to try it as a night time moisturizer.

I am a follower! :D
I like how you can use it as a cooking oil but also as a spread.
I subscribe!
holy cow, if I ever wanted to win one of your giveaways this would be the one. I love coconut oil and was just getting ready to order some. I use it for anything you normally use butter or oil for. You can spread it on toast and eat it (yum!), and cook in a pan with it. It is also a great moisturizer and sunscreen. Love love love coconut oil. The company looks great too. Thanks!
Follower :)
I'd use it for recipes that call for butter or margarine.

I would like to try a pie with it.
Organic Virgin Coconut Oil contains the highest levels of antioxidants. Virgin Coconut Oil is a food, and is one of the best cooking oils you can use. Since it is a solid most of the time at room temperature or when refrigerated it can be a butter or margarine substitute for spreads or for baking. Any recipe calling for butter, margarine, or any other oil can be substituted with coconut oil. I would use it in my stir-fry recipes, fish and shrimp recipes, in baking recipes and in fruit smoothies primarily.

I wonder how it would work in icing. My daughter hates when I use crisco but the butter makes it too soft to decorate with. Right now I use half crisco and half butter. She would love this frosting

Coconut oil is liquid above 75 degrees F. (25 C.), and below that it will be a solid fat. I know the first time I looked for it in the store, I was surprised to find it in the solid form.
I make cookies with coconut oil, and sometimes use the oil as a moisturizer for my hair. :)

For years I've looked for an oil I could use as a substitute for shortening in baked goods, without sacrificing quality. Coconut oil is the best I've found. It works great for pie crusts, breads, etc. It's so much healthier, and tastes great, too. I love it!
We love coconut oil! We use it for cooking, as a hair conditioner, moisturizer, and now that our newest baby's here, diaper cream!!!
I would use the coconut oil in everyday cooking. I read that coconut oil has high antioxidant levels. Thank you for the opportunity.

The expiration dates on our Virgin Coconut Oils are for two years, and on our Expeller-pressed coconut oils they are 18 months, but they will usually be fine much longer than the expiration dates.
